Miss Universe Malaysia Menang ‘ Kostum Kebangsaan Terbaik’, Ketengahkan Tradisi Masyarakat Peranakan

Umum maklum Miss Universe Malaysia, Shweta Sekhon telah pun memenangi anugerah Best National Custome pada pertandingan miss Universe 2019 sekaligus mengharumkan nama Malaysia.

Shweta yang berumur 22 telah memenangi anugerah tersebut menerusi undian talian yang paling banyak.

Mengangkat tema, ‘A Peranakan Indulgence’, kostum rekaan oleh Carven Ong itu diilhamkan daripada warisan dan tradisi masyarakat Peranakan.

Selain itu, makanan popular Peranakan seperti Onde-onde, kuih koci, kuku, kuih talam, kuih lapis, kuih sago dan telur merah bertuah turut diketengahkan pada kostum tersebut.
